Owner and Head Instructor | Mexican National Team Member | Certified Coach
Amazingly energetic and driven, Mrs. Susana has been expertly preparing students to face challenges and succeed. She is a 2nd Dan Black Belt with over 30 years of martial arts training and was a proud member of the Mexican National Taekwondo Team for three years, competing in both national and international championships.
Mrs. Susana has extensive experience in World Taekwondo (WT) training, with a specialized focus on Olympic-style sparring (Kyorugi). She has earned numerous medals in major competitions across Mexico and Canada, and for the past 15 years, she has dedicated herself to teaching children, teens, and adults as both an instructor and head instructor mentoring more than 300 students on their martial arts journeys.
Over the past year, she has built and led a high performing sparring team of youth athletes, coaching them through the competitive season and helping them secure over 100 medals. Her coaching has produced Gold, Silver, and Bronze medalists at National Championships, and she proudly coached a Silver Medalist at the Canada Open, demonstrating her skill in guiding both emerging and elite-level competitors.

Senior Instructor Olympian | National Champion | International Medalist | Coach
Agueda Perez Lopez is a highly accomplished Taekwondo athlete and Olympian who represented Mexico on the international stage for over a decade. From 1990 to 2002, she was a key member of the Mexican National Taekwondo Team in the -47 kg (flyweight) Kyorugi division, earning numerous medals and accolades across the globe.
Her distinguished career includes participation in the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, where she placed 6th in the women’s -49 kg category. Agueda earned medals in premier competitions such as the World Taekwondo Championships, Pan American Championships, World Games, and multiple international Opens. Notably, she was the gold medalist at the Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament in 1999 and a consistent competitor in elite training camps across Korea.
She has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the Premio Nacional al Deporte (National Sports Award, 1993), the Luchador Olmeca Award, and the State Sports Award of Mexico in 1999, recognizing her contributions to sport and national pride.

Senior Assistant Instructor and Coach | Provincial & National Competitor | Air Cader Leader
Ms. Myra Yu is an enthusiastic, disciplined, and highly motivated martial artist who brings energy, leadership, and compassion to every class she teaches. A 1st Dan Black Belt, she began her Taekwondo journey at the age of 7 and has become a standout leader and role model within the Paragon Martial Arts community.
Myra is a Senior Assistant Coach, playing an essential role in mentoring students during both regular classes and competitions. She is known for her strong communication skills, calm leadership, and her ability to encourage students to push past their limits while maintaining a positive and respectful environment.
In addition to her accomplishments in Taekwondo, Myra is a proud and active member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, where she has earned multiple awards, promotions, and leadership responsibilities. Her experience in the cadet program has strengthened her discipline, initiative, and teamwork and these values are clearly reflected in her approach to teaching and mentoring at Paragon.
As a junior Kyorugi athlete, Myra has competed at both the provincial and national levels, consistently demonstrating technical excellence, resilience, and competitive spirit. She is currently working toward earning a place on the Canadian National Team, and trains with focus and determination toward that goal.
With her impressive mix of competitive experience, teaching ability, and leadership training, Ms. Myra is an invaluable part of the Paragon team inspiring the next generation of martial artists to lead with confidence, humility, and heart.
Jr. Assistant Instructor | National Champion & International Athlete | Performing Arts Leader
Ms. Sophia Grossi is a dynamic and multi-talented leader at Paragon Martial Arts. A 1st Dan Black Belt and Senior Assistant Instructor, Sophia brings a unique blend of high-level skill, creativity, and enthusiasm to every class she leads.
Sophia is an accomplished Taekwondo athlete, having competed at both the provincial and national levels. She is a two-time Provincial Champion, the 2025 National Champion in the -63 kg Junior Category, and a Silver Medalist at the 2025 Canada Open. Most notably, Sophia proudly represented Canada at the 2025 Cadet-Junior Pan American Championships, advancing to the quarterfinals as part of the National Team — a testament to her elite skill, perseverance, and commitment to excellence.
Outside the ring, Sophia is a talented high school student actively involved in her school's drama program, where she has excelled in multiple productions and earned recognition for her outstanding performances. Her background in theatre enhances her stage presence, confidence, and communication skills, all of which she brings into the dojang — making her classes engaging, energetic, and full of positive spirit.
As a Senior Assistant Instructor, Sophia leads with confidence, care, and contagious enthusiasm. She is a natural mentor who inspires students through her work ethic, positivity, and ability to make everyone feel welcome and motivated. Whether teaching techniques or building community, Sophia is a true role model who brings both fun and focus to the Paragon team.

Ms. Leah Yu is a focused, driven, and enthusiastic Junior Assistant Instructor who brings positivity, discipline, and encouragement to every class. A 1st Dan Black Belt, Leah began her Taekwondo journey at just 5 years old and has been actively competing ever since demonstrating early dedication, strong work ethic, and a love for the art of sparring.
As a passionate junior Kyorugi competitor, Leah has competed at provincial and national-level tournaments, developing technical skill, resilience, and competitive confidence. Her years of early experience have helped her grow into a poised and capable athlete.
Outside of Taekwondo, Leah is a well-rounded leader and student. She is a proud member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, where she continues to develop responsibility, teamwork, and leadership. Leah is also an accomplished member of her school's debate team, having participated in several debate competitions, which have further enhanced her critical thinking, public speaking, and confidence under pressure.
In her role as a Junior Assistant Instructor, Leah is known for her patience, attentiveness, and natural ability to connect with younger students. She supports the lead instructors in guiding students through drills, encouraging focus, and helping them enjoy every step of their martial arts journey. With her diverse strengths in competition, leadership, and communication, Leah is a rising leader at Paragon Martial Arts and a positive role model to those around her.
